Jaymee is a lovely lad from our  Spring  x  Spot breeding.  He has very nice bone and a wonderful, long, silky coat. Physically, he has absolutely awesome conformation.

We used to call him "Kramer" as a puppy as he had this tuft of hair all along his head, down his back to his tail - and it stood straight up!  Never in a million years could we have imagined he would mature out to what he has physically become.

Everyone is his new best friend.  He loves people but can be a little too obnoxious about saying hi. As a good friend of mine said to describe him "Yimmers is a brand new, right off the assembly line soul.  He has to experience everything!"  This is such a great description of him.  He is game for any and every thing.

Jaymee was the first puppy, and a very difficult birth for Spring.  He came out with little purple feet as he had gotten stuck in the canal too long and wasn't breathing.  Cheryl did her magic, and I now have a wonderful boy to play with.

"Jimmers", as we all affectionately call him, has a great sense of humor and is very impish!  Even as a puppy he loved to explore everything, he has a very inquisitive nature.  However, that said, he is a very good little team player.  He works well with me and really focuses on what is being asked of him.  He is a very honest little dog.

I said I would not keep another male - yet I wouldn't trade him for the world.  Nothing has ever really fizzed him.  He is game to try anything new.  He is fascinated by noises, and when he hears a new one figures he has to go discover what is making that noise.  When we were teaching him the Aframe, it took us awhile to get him to NOT try to find out what was making that neat noise - it was his feet scratching on the gritted surface!

From the time he was born, I so badly wanted to keep him, but I knew I also wanted the female I had fallen in love with as well.  Bless Darren's heart, he told me to keep both of them, and I am so very glad I did!

Distraction had been a huge thing with him, not when he's working but when he was sitting on the sidelines.  So, we did a lot of impulse control training and focus work while we watched the others play.  He progressed very quickly and now just lays at my feet off leash and watches the others work.  His self control has truly benefited from this training.  We have also taught him the "relax" command and he responds very well to that.

His obedience work is coming along very nicely as well.  When you call him, he comes running over into a sliding, tight sit, looking directly at your face.

He has huge amounts of prey drive!  I don't know that I'll ever be able to play flyball with him, but he is trained for it and plays it very well!

He has very nice natural herding ability.  He is very easy to work and has natural, nice square flanking.  He does lovely, controlled walk ups and doesn't push the sheep past me.  He has nice eye - not sticky but very strong.

In a nutshell, he's a lot of fun to train and hang out with.
